An absolute cheer for Trump supporters before the elections as Donald Trump got discharged from the military hospital after some recovery from COVID-19. He still is contagious but that never seemed a concern for President Trump. Since the breaking out of the novel coronavirus US president was never terrified neither for himself nor for his countrymen but a small hope was in the air for a serious brain-storming over the pandemic by the Trump administration. Hope turned into despair soon when Trump showed a childish attitude by removing his mask just after reaching the white house.
His message was to not be afraid of this virus but a carelessness was visible in his appearance. “Don’t let it dominate you. Don’t be afraid of it. You’re gonna beat it. We have the best medical equipment. We have the best medicines, all developed recently.” He said. Trump almost forgot that the same virus has taken away the lives of more than 200,000 Americans.
Today on 7 in the morning he stepped off the marine helicopter and with a Hollywood lookalike set he stepped towards the White House. Then he removed his mask for a photoshoot and completed the film which he later in the day tweeted with a careless message. “Nobody that’s a leader would not do what I did. And I know there’s a risk, there’s a danger, but that’s OK. And now I’m better and maybe I’m immune – I don’t know! But don’t let it dominate your lives. Get out there. Be careful.” He added.
Trump himself posed a threat for his Whitehouse staff but most dangerously he inspired people to act the same and that could seriously increase the number of deaths due to novel coronavirus. He must need to know that people still are dying and are careless in using masks and following certain rules to prevent the virus. They need an example from the top administration to behave seriously not to get infected and also prevent the virus from spreading. He indicated that he must return to the campaign soon.
On the other hand, Democratic party candidate Joe Biden did not miss the opportunity to remind Trump that masks are for the safety of others. The former vice president was addressing an audience at NBC television town hall event in Miami, Florida where he came at contrast to Mr Trump and presented his blunt slogan: “Masks matter.” “I would hope that the president having gone through what he went through – and I’m glad he seems to be coming along pretty well – would communicate the right lesson to the American people,” He added in his speech.
Joe Biden message to Trump is truly life-altering as wearing a mask in public space not only will protect others but also inspire other people to do the same and that can save multiple lives. The US is experiencing the worst pandemic effects in the whole world with the highest number of deaths. In the upcoming election, these issues may favour Biden and trump should address the issue more seriously if he wishes to win the election because he is already trailing in national polls by marginal difference.
