The US election is reaching its final phase where everything will be decided on November 3rd, 2020. Trump has reached the hospital in the meantime and Joe Biden appeared as a popular leader in national presidential polls. Covid-19 keeps spreading its leg in the country and despite the better-performing economy, a revival is necessary to keep everyone employed. All eyes across the globe are fixed to the US election 2020 which will decide the fate of Republican candidate Trump and Democrat candidate Joe Biden. Here are a few points you need to know and collect valuable insights on the US election 2020.
Why should Trump not win reelection:
The United States is the most powerful nation on earth and according to Spider man’s uncle, “with great power comes great responsibility” America should behave like a leader of nations and sometimes it should. Complete 20th century is full of US contributions to the world. It pioneered many principles and guidance in media, science, technology, military and many more. However many times it also took an advantage of its powers but that was obvious. Any other nations, if, were at its place, would have taken greater advantages. Now it depends upon the ideology of its leader whether or not it would share its wisdom, power and resources to the rest of the world. So it is quite important not only for Americans but for the whole world that a wise man be seated on the throne of White house.
Since 2016, Trump has advised and implicated such policies that intend to cut the wisdom, power and resources of America to the rest of the world. Sometimes he failed to dominate the power in some region where other countries like Russia and China took great advantages whether it is the current Azerbaijan-Armenia situation or Saudi and Iran or Taiwan or Pakistan. The US seems happy cutting down itself from the world by poor foreign negotiations or anti-immigrant policies. Plenty of things the world would never like to see but is likely to happen in another presidential term of Trump. So there are many reasons for “Why should Trump not win reelection.” Not only other countries but US citizens would also be affected by the poorly-constructed Trump policies. Follow these given points.
6 things President Trump did wrong:
Not accepting immigrants anymore:
The most visible thing he did is to take steps to prevent immigrants from coming to this country. This step may affect some aspirants in the short but will surely be affecting the US economy in long term. The concept of globalization facilitates companies to hire great talent from anywhere they want. Also, many other factories get cheap labour from foreign countries. The fundamental form of the USA is to grow collectively without hesitating foreign manpower but that is somehow going to break with Donald Trump.Aimless foreign policies with Russia and China:
China and Russia are the greatest threat for the USA in terms of capturing the global power but the recent statements and actions done by Trump are not seemingly well-directed to achieving the goal in favour of the USA. For example, he favoured the USSR move for invading Afghanistan which prevented the replacement of Soviet Union supported govt instead of US-supported regime. Again For China, Trump wished the communist govt for its 70th anniversary that could never ideologically be called a good move.
The deal of constructing a useless fence:
It was like a dream for Trump to fence up its southern border adjacent to Mexico. The deal was approved by the Senate Appropriations Committee for $1.6 billion dollars for a 65 miles fence. Trump extended his demand to a whopping amount of $5.7 billion which he could never get but he reduced the budget to $1.38 billion, a far lesser amount than initially approved through the bipartisan deal. The abuse of power and authority:
Trump was not satisfied with the budget allotted for border fence so he used the National Emergencies Act to fulfil his unnecessary plans. Legislatively it was wrong to demand money through the Emergency Act while he could manage to get the money from other resources. It was absolute abuse of power which Republicans support through.Leading an ideology of hatred:
Trump as President never behaved like their former counterparts. His remarks on various sensitive issues promoted the idea of hatred. He insulted many people personally and did not even spare the dead ones. He supported xenophobic nationalism, sexism and never took a prominent stand in crimes like a mass shooting or campaign like “black lives matter.”The poor response over pandemic:
Coronavirus seems to cause trouble for many of the govt. With only a few exceptions. Death related to COVID -19 can not directly be blamed to the govt. but the way the President treated the pandemic was one of the main reasons leading the country to top in fatality numbers. Now when President Trump got positive with COVID-19 and hoped to take the pandemic seriously, Americans would now breathe a sigh of relief. However, the deaths related to coronavirus still increases.
Is Trump going to be reelected?
Republican President Donald Trump is having a neck to fight with Democratic candidate Joe Biden which has experience of vice-presidency in Barack Obama’s tenure. National presidential polls suggest that Joe Biden is ahead of Trump across the country. However, we must not forget how Hillary Clinton lost the election even after aggregating 3 millions more votes than Trump in 2016. The practice of the Electoral college system ensures that the candidate with the most votes may not always win the election. The electoral college system specifies each state a number of votes that depends upon how many senators it sends to the congress. So the number of votes vary in states and there are 538 electoral college votes from a candidate must collect 270 to ensure the win.
Who is ahead in polls: Trump or Biden?
Generally, Joe Biden is ahead of Trump with 51% votes, While Trump is hovering around 40 to 43%. Some battlegrounds which are crucial for electoral college votes also suggest a marginal gap between Trump and Biden with Biden having more votes. So all these data may lead you to the more likely outcome of Joe Biden winning but that’s not the last thing this election would offer.
Why Trump may win again?
Things may change quite rapidly in states and turn to the favour of Trump when he becomes involved actively. He still has this charisma that could allure throngs of audiences and turn them into his favour. It is a favourable thing with every nationalist leader around the world that they can easily make the audience or listeners forget past issues just with their oratory. The surge of nationalistic ideology have been reaching to its zenith and that led several nationalist leaders forming and holding the government. Narendra Modi in India and Boris Johnson in the UK are prominent examples.
US economy that is also working well even in the pandemic crisis may also work for Donald Trump and this is something that provided his supporters more to talk about and spread their jingoistic ideology wrapped in economical data. That makes Trump’s campaign lively and his supporters to cheer more to make a healthy image of his candidature on Facebook and other social media sites. Media and social media play a crucial role in turning the crowd's favour and a strict tone for the solution of every problem whether it is well-planned or not or have some negative consequences. It sure works for voters who tend to have quite a short term memory. They tend to flow in the positivity of oratory and aggressiveness in the ideology that somehow seems more clear and direct approach to fix any problem and that surely will help Trump to win to turn the election in his favour at last moment.
