A solution to Kashmir

Every time when you go through the question- “What is the solution of Kashmir?” It simply refers to Kashmir as a problem or an issue. Is it true? Is Kashmir really an issue? - No! Kashmir is not an issue but is an apple of discord. As you can find a story in Greek mythology from where the phrase ‘An apple of discord’ has been taken. When goddess Eris tossed an apple in the midst of the feast of Gods at a wedding as a golden apple for the most beautiful. It sparked a dispute among the goddess and eventually led to the Trojan war. Quite the same, Kashmir is only a golden apple that is a matter of dispute among the nations, India, Pakistan and promoters of Azad Kashmir. Like in the Greek story no one has cared about the apple when the Trojan war started. Unfortunately, Kashmir witnessed the same, the valleys, the Jhelum, the shikara and its people have gone behind the curtain and only a few stones, blood, bullets and politics has remained. For a golden apple, people lost their lives in the past and no one can count how many children, students, girls and wives have been drowned in Jhelum.





The actual problem

The real problem is the depiction of identity. What is the identity of Kashmir? In between the stories of some of the international news you will hear the term Indian administered Kashmir (IAK) and for the Pakistani part of Kashmir, it is termed as Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK) or Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PAK) what Pakistani media calls Azad Kashmir. However, the chilling air wrapped up in fog with the smell of Kesar is the same in all directions. The real identity of Kashmir always tries to break the barrier of politics but autumn by autumn the barrier is getting tougher and wider.

The treatment of Kashmir as only a piece of land and the vote politics in both India and Pakistan has made it a problem. The identity of Kashmir has never been considered and the people of Kashmir has ever been sidelined. The agenda of political parties in India and Pakistan is to hyper nationalize the issue and turn the voters to their favour, has made the situation worse.
